Photos from the Basel region

The Basel region is characterized by plateaus and valleys, dotted with countless waterfalls of varying sizes. The Ergolz and the Eibach are perhaps the best-known streams. They originate in the Jura Mountains and later flow into the Rhine. In spring, countless rapeseed fields compete in vibrant yellow. In October, the Basel-Landschaft forests transform into a landscape ablaze with red and gold. Many observation towers offer fantastic panoramic views. The most famous viewpoint is probably the Belchenfluh, known locally as "Bölche," especially during the autumn and winter months when the Swiss Plateau is shrouded in a thick blanket of fog.
