10th Isebähnli Töffli GP Trimbach 2026

Although I also own a moped, I still lay in wait with my camera in a suitable location.

For the past 10 years, the Moped Grand Prix has been held at the Isebähnli railway in Trimbach. The Isebähnli is probably familiar to most motorcyclists as a meeting point on Thursday evenings. While in the 70s and 80s, riders practiced leaning into corners on the Hauenstein Pass until their earlobes scraped the asphalt, things are a bit more civilized these days. The track has been made somewhat less challenging, and the speed limit has been largely reduced to 60 km/h. However, some mopeds now exceed this speed, and the spectacle of 500 mopeds starting simultaneously is impressive.

The race started at 11 a.m., and by 11:15 a.m. the first participants had already left the Hauenstein Pass behind them and were speeding over the crest at a sometimes horrendous pace.

I really enjoyed it. Before, I only used my camera for motorsports. Back then, I was able to sell a lot of Formula 1 photos to the well-known magazines. But that was a long time ago.
